Is smartphone an aid to improve the teacher performance of tertiary level? Do the observation practices in group through smartphone applications help in improving oneself and a team of teachers simultaneously? The presentation analyses the impact of using smartphones and instant messaging applications for action research to improve the quality of performance of tertiary level teachers. The paper focuses on the practice of group assessments of teachers for betterment of English learning process in classrooms.
