Abstract
This contribution focuses on an act of speech “Private personnel transportation for companies” often stamped on vehicles belonging to private organisations or companies. What does this syntax mean? Does it refer to vehicles belonging exclusively to the personnel of a private organisation or business or to a vehicle devoted to public transport and which are exclusive of the personnel of any private organisation? The study carried out showed that this syntax brings about various semantic interpretations. Thus, translating accurately what one means by this expanded noun phrase requires deleting the attributive adjective “private” in order to generate simply “ personnel transportation “ since the opposite, that is to say “public personnel transportation”, does not exist.
