Abstract

Introduction: Adolescence and youth is a time marked by physical, biological and psychosocial changes, which imply the need to experience new experiences and learning, analyzing topics regarding health, sexuality and social issues. The Guidelines for Comprehensive Health Care for Adolescents and Young People aim to strengthen prevention and health promotion for this priority group, through the reorientation of health services in order to favor the effectiveness of health care responses to adolescents and young people. Objective: This article aims to address several aspects, which may be related to health, family life, learning, sexuality and others, which have an impact on the adolescent’s life. Critical reflection: The topics addressed, such as problems related to sexuality, teenage pregnancy, alcohol and other drugs, bullying, mental health, comorbidities and nutrition are of important significance in improving approaches in the Comprehensive Health Care of Adolescents and Young People, aiming at meet the needs of this population in an integral and equitable manner. Conclusion: It is concluded that the health of adolescents and young people is a very significant and extremely important health field, as it involves several factors with a high influence over its life cycle.
