Abstract

This article proposes a reflection about Ibn Khaldun and the myth of the “Arab invasion” in North Africa. Through an analysis of Ibn Khaldun’s work and in the light of Edward Said’s critique of a Westernt thoughts about east (Orientalism), a Eurocentric narrative in which the Arabs cannot create knowledge, only carry it. Therefore it is  a search for a contribution to studies on the Global South.
