A Study on the Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on India.

Abstract

The COVID-19 virus was first traced in November 2019 in Wuhan city of China. But the matter was no taken seriously by Chinese authority. At the initial stage China could not estimate the dangerous infectious nature of this virus. As a result the virus is quickly spread across the world through air travellers. Before India could understand the gravity of the situation Corona virus infected person from external world is already reached India. India had a chance to isolate herself from the rest of the world in January 2020. But Indian administration understood the gravity of the Pandemic in much late. Had India could sealed her territory from the rest of the world by sea, air and land root with zero movement of people in and outside the country in the month of January, 2020 there could be no chance of Corona infected case inside the country. Even India could avoid the internal lockdown nationwide at a tremendous price. On 25 th march India gone for internal and external lock down. Crossing of Indian territorial border is stopped from 25 th March, 2020. By that time Corona infection has already started inside the country. Started with a single case in February, 2020 and now there are more than 12000 cases with more than 370 death due to corona virus infection. This paper will analyse the impact of COVID-19 Pandemic in India on various front such as economic, education, entertainment, sports, religion, industrial production, agriculture and farmers, transportation, various service sectors, real estate and construction, daily wage workers and un-organized sectors, Rail ways, Road transport , Air lines, etc.
