Abstract
With allusions to the classical cultural heritage present in the work of Fernando Pessoa's heteronym Alberto Caeiro, this study aims to praise the sophisticated poetic language behind the apparently basic and spontaneous discourse, rooted in the realm of Platonism. This is derived from Pessoa's intellectual education and is present in other moments of both his heteronymic work and under his own name. The identification and analysis of several platonic elements in Caeiro's work appeal to its essence and role in the universe of Pessoa.
